The result is a whisky with notes of candied citrus, dried plums, hazelnuts, and layers of polished leather and bitter chocolate, shaped by full sherry maturation.
Ardbeg – Open day on Saturday 31st May 2025
Ardbeg Smokiverse (48.3%, $120/€110)
A HIGH GRAVITY EXPERIMENT
Created using high gravity mashing, this Ardbeg Day malt is a first for the distillery. From the dense swirl of a highly concentrated wort, our mash tun has given rise to a whisky of monumental proportions. Take a sip and plunge your palate into a fruity, sweet, and utterly absorbing Ardbeg.
By experimenting with High Gravity Mashing, we’ve dialled down the water, cranked up the grist, and packed more grain into the mix than ever before. This process ramps up the sugar in the wort, resulting in a higher gravity measurement than our standard mash. It’s this heightened gravity that has helped unlock this fruitier, more intense Ardbeg. Layers of muscovado sugar, ripe barley, and toasted sourdough bread, culminate in a burst of ripe tropical fruits and sweet peat.
DENSE AND INTENSE
In Ardbeg SMOKIVERSE, energetic aromas of ripe BARLEY and AROMATIC SMOKE make for a turbulent nose. Venture further and discover TROPICAL FRUITS and CLOVE. Finally, PEAT MOSS and BONFIRE EMBERS fuse in a finish that blazes on.
Ardbeg Homecoming (56.1%, £120)
In addition to the Feis Ile official bottling Smokiverse (See above), Ardbeg have a new distillery exclusive bottle for those who pilgrimage to the island and the distillery. It’s a Rum finish Ardbeg
-
Ardbeg Single Cask #3918 2009 14 Year Old (57.9%, £440, 268 bottles)
This soft and floral single cask is the fragrant result of Ardbeg’s first experiment with port casks. The whisky’s story began on Monday 13th July 2009, when its smoky, balanced spirit flowed from Ardbeg’s still. Then with a complex, velvety whisky in their minds, the Whisky Creation Team laid a parcel of spirit down in second-fill port casks, never before used to age Ardbeg. But after 14 years of ageing, one cask’s sweet, floral layers set it apart from the rest.
Combining notes of sugared plums, spearmint and roses with restrained hints of smoke, Cask No. 3918 showcases Ardbeg as never before.

Dramfool Festival Edition Octomore 5 Year Old (58.2%, 22 bottles of 200 ml)
-
Indie Whisky Fèis Ìle 2025 Rhinns 2011 13 year old cask #R11/281-1 (57.8%, £195, 237 bottles)
We can now, finally, say we have bottled every spirit expression distilled by Bruichladdich, completing the set with this ultra-rare Rhinns. Peated to 30PPM,this has matured its whole 13 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel. The subtle and different peat that comes from this spirit sits well within the sweetness of bourbon which compliments rather than combats the flavour. As we learned from Jim McEwan – under whose guide this was of course distilled – the bourbon cask compliments distillery character, not obscuring it, so subtlety and flavour still shine through.
Our official Feis Ile 2025 release the cask released 237 bottles at natural cask strength of 57.8%.
Dramfool’s Gold : Port Charlotte 21 years old (60.5%, £395, 142 bottles)
We are delighted to have our second edition of the Dramfool’s Gold release finally ready for the world to enjoy. Fully matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, cask #661, 21 year old Port Charlotte none the less!!
This goes without saying, but let’s say it anyway. Look at that colour! Of course all natural!
This has been a hugely active cask imparting a wonderful flavour and sweetness from the Oloroso, and yet even after more than two decades, still retaining a strength of 60.5%.! While the angels didn’t take too much of the strength since 2003, they helped themselves to the liquid as the hogshead only gave up 142 bottles.
A wonderful whisky of which we were of course delighted to share and launch officially at Feis Ile 2025 where, no surprise!, it went down extremely well.
Dramfool Bruichladdich 2002, 22 years old, cask #1231 (54.1%, £280, 122 bottles)
It has been a while since we released an old Bruichladdich, and to release one at 22 years old is a first for us. Distilled in 2002 in the very early days of the revival of Bruichladdich – this is liquid history!
Spending its whole maturation in a single first-fill bourbon barrel, this is as pure an expression of early Bruichladdich at two decades old that we can remember. The true character of the reborn spirit shines through, as Jim reminds us a distillery powered by people, passion and time – not computers!
Bottled at natural cask strength of 54.1% with an outturn of only 122 bottles, this surely wont last long!
Douglas Laing
Big Peat 2010 15 Year Old Feis Ile 2025 (50%, £70/€89.90)
Bottled to commemorate the annual Fèis Ìle, Big Peat brings his story back to where
the journey first began – the unique island Big Peat calls home, Islay. Maturation in
Refill Hogsheads allows our Big Peat spirit to shine, further enhanced by the unique
distinction of being a 2010 vintage
Tasting Notes
Our Fèis Ìle 2025 Edition delivers the classic Big Peat profile of sweet smoke, briny
oceanic character and notes of sugary kelp, coal dust, chimney soot and damp
bonfire ash – concluding with “his” anticipated long-lasting smoky BBQ character.
Mac-Talla
Mac-Talla Feis Ile 2025 Amarone Cask (54.3%, £78)
The limited-edition bottling showcases a distinctive finishing process using first-fill Amarone casks sourced from Italy’s prestigious Valpolicella region.
Amarone della Valpolicella is renowned among wine connoisseurs for its concentrated flavors, developed through the traditional appassimento method where grapes are air-dried before fermentation.
This whisky underwent 18 months of finishing, combining spirit from one first-fill Amarone butt and one partial refill European oak butt. The marriage was then returned to Amarone casks for an additional six months of maturation.
This bottle will hit the shelves May 16, 2025

Campfire – Feis Ile 2025 Elements of Islay (54.5%)
The Elements of Islay Campfire completes the limited edition “ Fire Trilogy” and was released especially for Fèis Ìle 2025. It combines three distinctive single malts from the north and south coasts of Islay to create a complex blended malt, matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks , first-fill bourbon casks and toasted fresh oak casks .
Its aroma is inspired by the idea of cozying up around a campfire and roasting s’mores: notes of ginger cookies , dark chocolate with candied orange , and toasted marshmallows characterize the complex flavor. A whisky that impressively combines smoky warmth and sweet depth.
