Whisky Review & Tasting Notes: Craigellachie 15 yo 1997 Cask 9344 Old Malt Cask

I had planned 2 more Craigellachie reviews in this round but we’ll have to settle for just one as the Craigellachie 7 bottle from Whisky Live TLV didn’t arrive yet. So the last indie Craigellachie in this round is another Old Malt Cask but this time it’s 15 year old with different profile. It was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2013 after it was matured in a refill hogshead.

Whisky Review & Tasting Notes: Craigellachie 11 Year Old Old Malt Cask

The second Craigellachie review in the series and this time a 11 year old offering from Hunter Laing, matured in a sherry cask and was bottled exclusively to the duty free store in TLV airport. As it was priced decently it was an easy choice to buy by many malt-heads here.

Whisky Review – Port Ellen 25 Year Old 1982 Old Malt Cask

Feis Ile 2014 has ended.

In the last week I’ve went through almost all the distilleries (except Lagavulin as I didn’t have any new Lagavulin dram to review). But before we go back to normal posting, let’s have one last review to close out the series, a tribute and a salute to the iconic islay distillery which isn’t with us anymore – Port Ellen.

Whisky Review – Ardbeg 10 Year Old 1996 Old Malt Cask #3058

I visited a good friend a while ago and while we chatted on whisky (as expected), we also had a couple of drams from his rich ‘library’. Since we were on a peat strike he pulled out this whisky bottle – a bit older Ardbeg indie bottling. This one was distilled before Ardbeg went through the last owner change and overhaul so it’s interesting to see what is the whisky character of this one comparing to older Ardbegs I tasted in the past.
